We Wish You a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Apparently, Blogspot has decided that this post has enough pictures, because it won't let me add any more...  But I guess that's a sign that this post is overdue enough as it is.  So, enjoy some fun memories below of Christmas 2012, interspersed among some fun pictures!

Noah's new kitchen... and what has occupied most of his life since receiving it!

I haven't really known of an "in" gift since Tickle-Me-Elmo whever that was, years and years ago.  But in case you were wondering, the "in" gift of 2012 was apparently kitchens... and plastic pots and pans.  Almost resulting in an all-out brawl at Grandma and Grandpa Egle's house.  Quite the big-ticket items!

Noah's version on what the manger was like when Jesus was born

One of the methods of distracting Noah on the plane ride to Portland was reading books.  Considering the season, we brought a book of "The Night Before Christmas."  We pointed to the big picture of Santa on the cover and asked, "Noah, who's that?"

He got a big smile on his face as he looked at us and replied proudly, "MOSES!"

Such excitement from "vrooming" a car!

A cool race-track from Grandma and Grandpa revealed some of Noah's Type A personality... two side-by-side race tracks and two little Matchbox cars.  Above one track is a small picture of one of the cars, and above the other track is a picture of the other car.  Ellia was perfectly content to put either car on either track (since either car fits, and the race is just as fun either way), but if the car didn't match the picture above the track, Noah insisted on switching the cars before they were allowed to race down.  Heaven forbid that the cars would go down the wrong tracks!

Christmas stop #2: Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Noah really likes Christmas lights.  In fact every time he sees them, he exclaims "Christmas lights!"  I should get it on video, though, because he's pretty cute about it.  Apparently, he's not too particular on his pronounciation, because it usually comes out, "Whistma light!"

Noah's not the only one excited about his new car!

As we mentioned already, Noah has learned to make a snow angel.  The best part, though?  Afterwards, he'll usually look at it and say, "Glory to God" (because that's that angels say, of course)!

Relaxing in Uncle Kevin's new chair...

We went down to Ohio after time at Grandma and Grandpa's to see Great Grandma and all the rest of the family...  Noah spontaneously decided to dance like Great Grandma Egle with the inventor of the dance, herself.  Good times...

It didn't really seem to matter whose presents they were... Noah was more than willing to help open every single gift there was.

Noah loved singing Happy Birthday to Jesus on Christmas morning!   And he loved blowing out the candle after "Silent Night" at church on Christmas Eve...  It must be a real birthday, if there's a candle to blow out!

New apron... kitchen mitts... who's ready to cook?

New slippers!  So cozy!
Noah got the perfect gift from Great Grandma Egle: a baseball mitt and ball (with a little Velcro assistance).  He and Ellia quickly figured out how it worked, and through the ball back and forth for awhile... and when everyone started watching and cheering, he couldn't be stopped.  The center of attention... right where he belonged!

Organized chaos...

For awhile, any time he heard the word "Christmas" he would immediately break out in song (or more accurately, "chant"), the one line that he knew: "We wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!"

Trying out the new chalkboard
It is quite the comfortable chair, isn't it?

One day in the car, he heard the song, "Santa Baby." Every time she said the words, "Santa Baby," though, Noah would shout gleefully: "Baby Jesus!"  I'm not exactly sure that's who she was referring to, but how could I correct such a wonderful assumption?

Last few presents... so hard to even sit up to open them!

In the days after Christmas, Noah went sledding with Ellia at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  Afterwards, they got a special treat of hot chocolate and pancakes!  Lucky kids, right?  Well, smart kid, Noah, went sledding the next day with Grandma (without Ellia).  He made Grandma get him all geared up in layers and snow suit, drag the sled to the little hill at the corner, and then went down the hill once.  Then, he declared, "Noah done sledding!"  When they got home, he said, "Hot chocolate now!  Pancakes, too!"
